Newport, RI

Lodging

We stayed at Newport Beach Hotel & Suites. I’d recommend the Hotel Viking as another option that I would try if I went back.

  • White Horse Tavern - try their Lobster Mac n Cheese

  • The Coffee Grinder - coffee with a view!

  • The Lounge and Firepit at Gurneys - tied with Midtown Oyster Bar for the best oysters of the trip

  • Empire Tea & Coffee - great coffee on a cute street

  • Midtown Oyster Bar - tied with Gurneys for the best oysters of the trip

Things To Do

  • Go shopping in downtown Newport (Thames St, Bowens Wharf, Bannister Wharf)

  • Sweet Berry Farm

  • Drive down Bellevue Ave and Ocean Ave

Parking

Parking in Newport can get expensive! Look up parking in advance - there are lots of cheap parking lots like the one on Mary Street and street parking on Thames Street, and they’re much cheaper than options closer to the water.
